Many people think vaccination and immunization are the same thing for baby health and newborn baby care. But the perception is wrong. Vaccination and immunization are not same. Immunization plays an important role in improving Baby Health.
The infant morbidity and mortality rate is very high in all over the world, particularly in developing countries. Considering this situation, The World Health Organization (WHO) has taken expanded program on immunization to reduce the morbidity and mortality of infant in collaboration with the member states. To prevent most deadly baby killer diseases, the immunization program has been taken. Under this program, all babies less than one year age are being immunized. At present there are 7-8 diseases are preventing through this immunization program. The diseases are; diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles, tuberculosis, hepatitis-B and C. To immunize the baby, there are schedule for immunization like BCG is given as soon as possible after birth, DPT-within one year, oral polio vaccine with one year and measles after 9 months.
In addition, tetanus toxide (TT) also given to pregnant women for preventing mother and baby from tetanus. The infant morbidity and mortality rate has dramatically reduced in all over the world after introduction this program. Therefore, to ensure the baby health, immunization program should be strengthen and implemented properly in all the countries of the world. And attend the vaccination immediately. Immune baby health is more capable to grow.
