Can you make a receiving blanket without a sewing machine?
I wanted to make my baby a receiving blanket before I have him. I am going to have him on Tuesday. For some reason I just decided to do this and I don’t have a sewing machine. I was wondering if it could be done without a sewing machine and about how much fabric would I need, and how hard is it to make? Thanks
You don’t need a lot of fabric and you can hem it by hand. Thank goodness it isn’t real big. You can do a blanket stitch around it or a rolled hem. You can square it up or leave it as it is. You won’t need to hem the selvage sides, just the ends.
1 yd of flannel
